inspired20in20 and a few other random things
at·trac·tion, noun, /əˈtrakʃ(ə)n/: the action or power of evoking interest in or liking for someone or something; a quality or feature that evokes interest, liking, or desire; a force under the influence of which objects tend to move towards each other.
Attraction is this month's theme atinspired20in20 for which I claimed "Misfits" (which is perfect for this, if you ask me, because that whole show is super attractive, lol ;)). So, this batch is centred on Alisha's character and her relationship to Simon because these two are what primarily attracts me to the show. I tried to structure my set by concentrating first on Alisha herself (because I love her and she is beautiful and she has the most beautiful screencaps - I mean, seriously, all those profile and close shots... perfect) and then on the developing relationship between her and future!Simon and Simon himself (I ignored that uber-depressing ending of series 3).
The rest of this post contains some alternates and a few icons from the Magic Challenge atmagicnook, which was a lot of fun (I even placed twice, yay!). That's why the second half of this post is all over the place concerning fandoms and styles. ;)

Da bin ich ja jetzt schon begeistert :)
Ich bin sehr verzaubert von 3, so schön pink und tolle Textarbeit, ne runde Sache. 05 gefällt mir auch gut mit dem Farbverlauf. 07 ist ja mal ganz grandios, ebenso wie 18 (s/w rockt einfach, da gibbet nichts).
Und ich war schon eine ganze Weile ein großer Fan deines so toll bunten Icons und hier taucht er jetzt nochmal auf. Farblicher totaloverload, aber so, so schön ♥
Und ich bin ein bißchen verzaubert von den beiden Slumdog Millionaire Icons (die klaue ich auch, so nebenbei) - der zweite ist ja mal grandios mit dem Schatten und den Farben und überhaupt!
Hach, dieser Post war mal ne schöne Abwechslung zu dem tristen Grau, was draußen vorherrscht. Besten dank dafür :)

Aww, danke! Ich muss sagen, das Icon ist - wie man so hübsch sagt - ein Unfall gewesen, aber ich fand's irgendwie toll und es war so bunt. Und wie gesagt, ihre Screencaps sind zum Sterben schön, da kann man fast alles mit machen. Gerade bei dem Icon freu ich mich ganz dolle, dass es dir gefällt.
Ich wollte im Übrigen schon ewig mal Icons von "Slumdog Millionaire" machen, da ich auch hier diese Silhouetten super hübsch finde und die sich geradezu anbieten für solche Art Icons.

Die besten Dinge entstehen doch irgendwie per Zufall, oder? Wenn man irgendwas plant, oder plant, wie es aussehen soll, ist es meistens der letzte Schnodder, aber Dinge, die man einfach mal testet, kommen dann total sensationell raus. Ich wünschte im Leben wär das mal so :/

This seriously looks completely different from your last few posts, which obviously means you just keep trying new techniques and looks. That is extremely commendable, my dear! I love the slight white texturing in 4 cuz it really enhances the vulnerability of her expression. It adds softness to the icon and plays wonderfully well against the red all around her! The lighting and bursts of color in 5 are magnif! 8 has a very familiar texture. Hmmm, whose texture could that be? Not
Oh lordy, the lighting and contrast in 9 are DELICIOUS! She looks so precious and soft and kinda lost or searching. That one just might be my fave! Both 11 and 18 have this sexy smokiness going on that is really appealing, and I love the gray balanced against the white in each piece, especially in 18. The pink and red tones in her face in 25 make me angry. They're NOT FAIR and they shouldn't exist! let's pretend that I haven't seen 28 before and haven't already squeed over its muted orange beauty and the softness of her hair and outline. THAT ICON IS SO DAMN AWESOME! The Borgias piece is so sparkly and shiny and pretty, and I love the blue sky with the cathedral radiating against it. The lighting in the bottom image is unreal. Seriously.
WHY WON'T THIS POST GO AWAY? IT'S TOO MUCH, ANI. I THINK YOU SHOULD KNOW THAT SO YOU CAN TONE DOWN YOUR AWESOMENESS APPROPRIATELY WHEN YOU NEXT TRY TO ICONIZE. JUST SAYING.

I definitely keep trying new things and I'm getting more and more comfortable with textures and this batch is hugely inspired and influenced by
28 has to be one of my faves as well because it turned out exactly the way I wanted it to - and this challenge (the video challenge) was extra hard because I couldn't watch the videos nor hear the music and I had no idea how the icon should look like. So this icon totally was me taking a chance and I'm very happy it got a 3rd place. And I'm very happy that you like it as well. :D
I might remake the Borgias icon some day because I really like the blending on the bottom piece but it's so small you can't see it much.

And I have to say, Misfits screencaps are so much fun to work with (the Alisha caps, at least) because there are so many beautiful shots, the cinematography is mesmerising. ;)

If there's one thing I adore, it's bold texture use executed cleanly and solidly, and that's what draws my eye to 8 so much! I really hope you continue delving into not so subtle texture usage cuz something tells me that'll be absolutely awesome at it.
There is NOTHING like the feeling when an icon comes just how you intended! 28 is just an elegant and beautiful piece, so to hear that you almost shot about in the dark not knowing what the inspiration was supposed to be is rather surprising and cool!

Misfits caps are some of the easiest things for me to color unlike most other caps I've worked with. There's always some weird lighting and cool tonesj ust waiting to be pulled out!

The blending on #6 is spectacular and the crops on #11, 13 and 17? ajsksjdkljd!I adore the coloring on #13 as well, the muted red/browns suit the theme so well. The composition on 22 is out of this world but what I particularly love is the gritty/grungy theme you seem to have going on throughout this entire post. It really adds depth and interest to your icons :)
